History: Hobo campground has an interesting history as it was once known as Miracle Springs and was a small town featuring a hotel, post office, store and built up hot springs. SoCalRegion.com has a wonderful write up on it located here. The name Hobo has conflicting originations with one source writing it originated from the “rancher’s name for the workmen who lived there, who were accused of stealing sheep and cattle” (Source). And another source just simply calling it from it being a homeless campground (Source).

Not squaring up for the bottom drop and subsequent waves can turn rafts over. This is around 1,200 CFS.
